New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is famous for his generosity. The actor recently hosted the 22nd International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA Awards) where he reminisced about his old days and revealed how people from various industries helped him during his tough times. The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actor shared that once he did not have enough money to buy a shirt and actor Sunil Shett saw it and gifted it. As soon as he went to Sunil’s son Ahan Shetty, Salman became emotional remembering this incident. The latter got up from his seat and hugged Salman.

“There was a time when I didn’t have much money. I only had enough to buy a shirt and jeans. A new fashion trend came during that time and that was stone wash jeans. I was out shopping and saw stone washed denim jeans and shirts in a very popular store. I only had money to buy jeans and I left the shirt alone. Suniel Shetty, who was with me in the store, saw that I did not have money to buy it, so he bought the shirt and gifted it to me,” shared Salman at the IIFA Awards.

After hugging Ahaan, he said, “Sunil also noticed that I was seeing a wallet but was not picking it up. Later, he took me to his house and presented me with the same wallet that he had.”

Salman also recalled that he had no work for six months after the resounding success of his debut film as Maine Pyaar Kiya. He then credited Ramesh Turani for giving him the work and called him “devata samana aadmi (God-like man)”. The superstar also thanked producer Boney Kapoor for reviving his career after Shanti. Boney Kapoor has helped me throughout my life. When times weren’t going well a bit, Boney gave a film called Wanted, which returned me (when time was not on my side, he gave me Wanted)”.

Lightening the mood, Salman said, “Then he gave me a no entry, making Anil (Kapoor) back”.
