New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, Miss World 2017 and debutant Manushi Chhillar along with ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ filmmaker Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi recently paid tribute at the historic Somnath temple. He visited the divine abode of the Lord as a gesture of saluting the spirit, bravery and sacrifice of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan for the defense of India’s independence.

Carrying the flag of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, he honored the brave warrior who happens to be the last Hindu emperor of India. Akshay Kumar and team performed puja in Somnath.

Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi said, “It was a really poignant moment to offer prayers at Somnath temple today. We kept the flag of Emperor Prithviraj during this puja and also offered all the necessary things for all the Hindu pujas during this process. It was incredible to see Pooja with our own eyes and we also offered milk at Somnath Jyotirlinga. We took only very small quantity of milk required for milking and distributed around 20 liters of milk enjoyment For the underprivileged after our worship. It’s an experience of a lifetime for us.”

Spokesperson of Somnath Temple, Shri Somnath Trust General Manager Vijay Chavda said, “The team of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan performed Someshwar Mahapuja at Somnath Temple today. The team placed the flag of Emperor Prithviraj during this puja and also presented everything needed for all the Hindu pujas during this holy process. The team also worshiped the flag of Somnath temple and offered milk at the Somnath Jyotirling post, which was distributed 20 liters of milk by the Samrat Prithviraj team to the underprivileged.

He plays the role of a great warrior fighting valiantly to defend India from the ruthless invader Muhammad of Ghor in this visual spectacle. As a part of the film’s release, director Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi is honoring his life and selfless contribution by carrying his flag to historical places in India.

While Akshay plays the mighty warrior, Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, the gorgeous Manushi Chillar plays Sanyogita, the beloved princess of King Prithviraj in Samrat Prithviraj. The film is scheduled to release this Friday in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
