Naseeruddin Shah broke his silence on the Prophet Muhammad controversy, saying- ‘This wave of hatred will go on…’. people news

New Delhi: Veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah recently spoke about the ongoing controversy related to Prophet Muhammad amid derogatory remarks by BJP leaders, which has dealt a diplomatic blow to India from the Gulf countries. The veteran actor is hopeful that goodwill prevails and the ‘wave of hatred’ against Muslims will end soon.

In an interview to a news channel, the multiple National Award winner also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to step up and ‘stop the spread of this poison’. “I would appeal to him (Prime Minister) to infuse some sense into these people. If he believes in what is said in the ‘Dharma Sansad’ in Rishikesh, he should say so. If he doesn’t, he should,” he said. It should say so,” he said, according to PTI.

BJP suspended itself on Sunday National spokesperson Nupur Sharma and its Delhi expelled Media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal after controversial remarks against Prophet.

Amid protests by Muslim groups over the remarks, the party issued a statement aimed at allaying the concerns of minorities and distancing itself from these members, saying it respects all religions and respects any religious personality. Strongly condemns the insult. The controversial comment also triggered a Twitter trend in the Arab world calling for a boycott of Indian products.

In another interview, Naseer told NDTV how Bollywood A-listers in the country have a lot to lose by speaking on boiling issues. About not speaking on the Khan trinity case, Naseeruddin Shah said, “I can’t speak for them. I’m not in the position they are in. I think they think they will take too much risk. But then again.” “I don’t know how they explain their conscience about it. But I think they are in a position where they have a lot to lose.”
