Munawwar Farooqui’s latest social media post mentioning Justin Bieber seems to have backfired with many criticizing the stand-up comedian for being insensitive. Justin Bieber has said that he has a rare disorder that left half of the superstar artist’s face paralyzed. Justin Bieber says a rare disorder that paralyzed half of the superstar artist’s face is the reason for his tour to be postponed. In his latest post, trying to take a dig at India’s political scene, Munawwar posted on social media, “Dear Justin Bieber, I totally understand. Even in India the Right Side is properly not working.”
However, it did not go down well with the netizens as many slammed Munawwar for being insensitive. A user asked, ‘What’s strange about this, do you think it’s fun to make fun of someone’s illness? Another user wrote, “Making fun of someone’s illness only shows how ‘got’ you are… it doesn’t make you funny.” The post also saw people debating Left and Right and netizens engaging in political arguments.
Multi-Grammy winner Bieber suffers from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, he said in a video posted to Instagram last week. The syndrome causes facial paralysis and affects the facial nerves through outbreaks of herpes. Bieber’s post comes after the cancellation of his shows in Toronto and Washington, D.C. The singer showed in the video that he could barely move one side of his face, calling the illness “very serious.”
“For those disappointed by my cancellation of the next show, I’m just physically, apparently not able to do them,” he said. The singer said, “My body is telling me I have to slow down. I hope you guys understand.” Bieber said he was unsure how long it would take him to recover. But he appeared positive about making a full recovery through rest and therapy. “I will use this time to just relax and unwind and get back to one hundred percent, so that I can do what I was born to do,” he said. In March, Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, was hospitalized for a blood clot in her brain.
